Melissa Galka

Melissa Galka… Beautiful young lady… One thing here… Bad things happen to Good people.
Melissa was 17 when this tragedy happened. She was out one night at a party and her father, Gary, was in bed and he couldn’t sleep. He knew something was wrong. He got up and just watched out the window. He saw headlights and felt relief go through his body, but then when he heard the doorbell ringing frantically, he knew there was something wrong. He found out his daughter was in a crash. When he got there, he was scared to leave. He thought if he left, she wouldn’t make it. When they got to the hospital, they found out she was brain damage.  Then a few days later, the doctor said it was the end for Melissa, so Gary put his hand on his daughter’s heart and felt it stop, and he said on the Ghost Adventures episode, “That was how this started to be honest”.

When GA went to the Galka’s, we learned where the Mel-Meter 87-04 got its name from. Mel is Melissa’s nickname and 87 is the year she was born and 04 is the year she died. Gary puts Mel in his devices he makes. You can tell this family will never forget their daughter and sister.
Gary’s wife’s name is Cindy, and their 2 other daughters names are Heather and Jen. Melissa was the oldest and Heather is the youngest.
When Zak, Nick, and Aaron went to the Galka’s, they wanted to go on the day she communicated the most with her family, which was her birthday, February 14th. When they went Gary asked, “Mel, do you like having Zak here?” and she responded, “… Yeah, he’s my friend…” But before we get into the evidence, Zak did call Melissa’s voice mail because Gary and Cindy didn’t shut her phone off. When the voice mail ended, Gary said, “I haven’t heard that voice in a long time.” And when they were done calling, Nick’s audio went out on his camera. Gary then told them that he has been telling Melissa to take Zak, Nick, and Aaron’s energy and the camera’s energy, so there would be clear EVP’s.
When Zak, Nick, Aaron, Cindy, Gary, Melissa’s sister Jen, and Jen’s husband Matt, were in the kitchen, Zak, Nick, Aaron, and Cindy could hear a faint whistling or singing, and when the whistling or singing was gone, Melissa came in and said, “…there gone…” When they were done eating cake and done with the birthday celebration, they went up to Mel’s room. When they went up there, Camera 1 went out. Billy ran upstairs to fix it, and right before he came in the room, a voice came through the spirit box and said, “…Who’s that?...” And then Billy walked in. We can tell this spirit was talking about Billy. By the way, the spirit was not Melissa. Mel said it was a friend.
Zak asked Melissa, “Melissa, how many people are here with you?” and she said, “…8…12…10…” Zak thought it was kind of funny. This does show that there is a portal that these spirits pass through. Next, when Nick sat on the bed, he spelt perfume. They were trying ALL they could to debunk it, but could find anything. Cindy was also on the other side of the bed, away from where the perfume smell was coming from. They thought this may be Melissa.
This part of the investigation was very heartwarming to me. Melissa came through the spirit box and said, “…hi dad…” and Gary said, “Did I just hear dad? I want to listen to that again.” Then after they listened to it again, Melissa said, “…miss you all…” And that was the last EVP of the night.
When everyone went down stairs, Zak stayed upstairs just to talk to Melissa and to wish her a happy birthday. It’s not easy being a ghost hunter… or a parent that had their child die in a car crash.
I just wanted to take a minute to talk about this episode. This episode hit me hard. Gary said at the end he wanted to show other parents that their kids are in arm reach, but one of his is not. But he does know she’s safe. When I watched “Galka Family” I did cry at the end from what Gary had said. You can tell Gary and Cindy really love and miss their daughter. I really do HIGHLY recommend this episode. I really LOVED when Zak said, “This will change your thoughts on the paranormal and your loved ones who have passed on.” I love this episode and I HIGHLY recommend it.

We think about tomorrow then it slips away
We talk about forever but we've only got today...

Im Standing On WOOD!

Kentucky Slave House… This place has been through a lot. Its been through murders and of course… Slavery. I would have to say, this episode is my favorite because I hate slavery and I’m totally against it. And that is also why Abe Lincoln is my favorite president, but anyway this place is very important.

The Kentucky Slave house is owned by Jerry Gore, a descendant of a former slave. He has turned his house into a museum of the old slavery, so we can remember America’s biggest sin. Jerry is a HUGE believer in God. Jerry sings these beautiful songs. One song goes, “Keep your hand on the plow and hold on, hold on” That song means that when the goings get tough, just keep your head held high and you can get through it. Some of his examples were, if you see your brother, sister, or parent being sold to a new slave owner, you just got to keep going through this rough part in their life. Jerry actually helped solve a mystery for Zak, Nick, and Aaron. Aaron got an EVP that said, “…I’m standing on wood…” “…on WOOD…” It was a female and then a male. When the Ghost Adventures Crew showed Jerry this after the lockdown, he said it was a song. He said that these slaves loved nature and what Mother Nature did. Wood is on trees and trees are nature and that saying of the EVP was a song.

Now, Zak, Nick, and Aaron were interviewing Nachee and Asonacade. When Nachee was talking about what she experienced that happened to her down stairs, this door behind them slowly crept shut. When Nick told Zak about the door, Zak got up to check for any air vents or drafts, but there was nothing. That was unexplained.
Nachee and Asonacade went downs stairs with the crew and started to pour libations. The people that came to watch were Zak, Nick, Aaron, Jerry, and a lady that sang a song in the episode. Pouring libations is when you pour a liquid; in this case it was water, to honor the spirits that once lived down in the basement. Zak said it was VERY emotional and he has never felt that way before.
When the locked down started, everything was calm, but then everything started to get all wound up. The room where a man committed suicide had a rem-pod in it and it started going crazy. Then, When Zak was sitting by a hole in the wall that led to the attic, Aaron heard someone running up the stairs. Zak next went down to the basement and said to some trapped spirits, “No more violence, No more pain.” And then the spirit said, “Just give us a chance.” This proves that the spirit is trapped and scared of what might happen next.

These spirits in the Kentucky slave house have been through a lot. Zak, Nick, and Aaron would know when they can feel the spirits feelings, like Zak at Povaglia or Preston Castle… but that’s for another time (:. Like I said before, it’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Most Important... The Thing that Catch the Ghost

There’s always one thing you need on an investigation, a spirit device. The Ghost Adventures Crew is always armed with Mel Meters and Rem Pods and more importantly, Digital Recorders.
Digital Recorders are probably the most important spirit device there is. This device can record spirit voices. Zak asked the spirit, “Out of Zak, Nick, or Aaron, who do you not like?” The spirit Nina came in and said, “Aaron!” That is called an EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomena. I would have to say, Ghost Adventures probably uses it the most.
The Mel Meter has to be one of my favorites. This device can detect a spirit's temperature and “Force field” I guess you could say. The Mel Meter will have a loud beeping sound when a spirit or “thing” comes in contact with the antenna. The bar range will also glow up and that probably has to be the best part… and the beeping. Gary Galka made the Mel Meter, and the way he came up with the name is kind of a sad story. His daughter died in a car accident and her nickname was Mel. He made this devise and went to where she had died and got readings of her. And that’s how the Mel Meter got its name.
The next device is also one of my favorites. It’s called the Ovilus II. This device could be one of the very important devises. When Zak had the Ovilus II on, he was asking questions and finding very odd answers, but they all lead to the 2nd slot in the graveyard. They found out very important information about this lockdown. This device has a data base that has all the words in the dictionary that a spirit could pick. When the spirit picks a word, the device will have the word on the devise and it will say the word out loud. This device is very important in some situations.
This device was VERY important in the episode of “Return to The Goldfield Hotel”. This device is called the PX devise. It’s a devise kind of like the Ovilus II. It has a data base that has many words, but this device doesn’t have the word on the device, it is only spoken. When Zak, Nick, Aaron, Mark Constantino, and Debbie Constantino had the device in the room where Elizabeth died. They were getting voices like there’s no tomorrow. They were listening and they were getting all these words like; Help, run… and so on. Then finally the device stopped and there was a voice that made a weird growl. This shows that there might be someone very scary around.
The last device I’m going to talk about is probably the second most important device in a ghost hunting devise book… The Spirit Box. This device also has a word data base, but it skips radio stations every 1 second. When people get full sentences out of the devise, they get surprised because it skips that many frequencies. A big moment this device was used was when The Ghost Adventures Crew went to the Old Charleston Jail. There is this spirit named Linvinya and she hanged herself off the gallows. Before she did this she said, “If anyone has a message for the devil, tell me now, for I will be meeting him in a moment”. Zak was inside one of the big rooms in the jail and said, “Linvinya, when you were getting hung at the gallows, you said, “If anyone has a message for the…?” and then through the spirit box she said, “The Devil.” That was VERY important and accurate.
Zak, Nick, and Aaron go on so many ghost adventures and some they do just for fun. Using all of the equipment is very important and like I said before… It’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Taking Big Steps is One Thing, but Big Steppin' is Another

When you say his name you think 3 words… skulls, scary, and paintings. I would say if u saw his house, you would understand what I was talking about. Aaron has many scary paintings all over his house. Every time he goes to a new lockdown or just on vacation he would have to get at least one scary painting. Aaron takes pictures of his TV saying, “Watching Ghost Adventures, and I remember when this happened” and stuff like that. All around his TV he has skulls. Walking up his stairs there are skulls on the steps, 2-3 a stair. I would have to say it’s pretty awesome.

Aaron lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. He grew up in Portland, Oregon. Ghost Adventures just recently aired a new episode called “Shanghi Tunnels”, which was the first episode of their new season. The Shanghi tunnels are in Portland, so Aaron was happy to go back there and visit. Aaron had a divorce because of a spirit from Bobby Mackey’s Music World. Aaron and his wife had a divorce because of a ghost. Aaron said it was 80% of the problem. Aaron and his ex-wife are still great friends, though.

Aaron had the mocking of a trinity at Preston Castle, had an elevator open by its self with him just standing in front of it, and had encounters at his own house. Aaron has had MANY experiences, and they were never easy to get rid of.
Aaron has a website called Agoodwincollections, and that’s where you can buy Big Steppin’ Gear or Big Steppin’ Clothing. You can also buy paintings and bath towels! I got to say though, it’s pretty cool!
Aaron made up this funny jumping looking thing. It’s called Big Steppin’ and I’m in LOVE with it! Aaron has a saying that I am also in love with and it goes like this… “Why take small steps when you can be Big Steppin’?!?!” I am in love with it that saying! Aaron, I think, started this saying when he started losing his weight. Aaron used to be about 200-250 pounds, but he weighs about 150-190! I’m amazed by how much weight he has lost! He has actually inspired me. So thanks SO much Aaron!!!
Aaron is an amazing person. He loves to be with family and friends, he loves his job, and he always he keeps us fans updated on Twitter and Facebook. I got to say though Aaron Ruben Goodwin is a Twitteraholic. Him and Billy Tolley, their EVP specialists are both Twitteraholic’s! But both Aaron and Billy are great guys!
Aaron is amazing, talented, smart, and one of my role models. Aaron has been through a lot of things. He has had a divorce because of a ghost, had about 200 people to Big Step with him in front of the Stanley Hotel, and Lost 50 pounds! Im just so amazed by what Aaron has done and his fans, including me, are always going to stick by Aaron Through thick in thin!!! Why take small steps when you can be Big Steppin’?!?!? But like I said before, it’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

A Channeled-Through Ghost Hunter is Always One of the Best

When you think about him, your hairs on your arms and neck stand on end. Nicholas (Nick) Joshua Groff is the co-founder/ investigator of Ghost Adventures. Nick has a wife named Veronique and a daughter name Annabelle. Nick was born in England, which that surprised me. He was born on April 19th 1981. Nick met Zak at his wedding. Nick has been all around the USA, He recently moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to Salem Massachusetts. That’s a bit of his life.
Nick has a few things he is famous for. One, he has a album called, “The Other Side’. He has 15 of the scariest to the most heartfelt songs. Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Dave Schrader, Jay Wasley, Debi Constantino, and Mark Constantino are in the song, “What’s Next”. Annabelle Groff is in the song “Baby is Born”. Nick wrote the songs by himself and he says the songs all have meaning to him. Nicks song, “Enter My Realm” was just featured on a Ghost Adventures Special. Two, Nick has a clothing line called, “Phantom Collection”. One shirt that is very important is “The Lady” shirt. It’s the lady he saw at Linda Vista Hospital. Another shirt has some lyrics from one of his songs on his album. Nick also has a book coming out in September I believe. Not much details on that, though. As you can see here, Nick is famous for many things.
Some of Nick's interest... Nicks favorite hockey team is the Boston Bruins. Nick is a huge fan of music. Nick also says how much he loves his fans on Twitter and Facebook. But his favorite hobby of all is ghost hunting… and that’s why it’s his job.
I haven’t seen a lot of people doing it, but there is a few people that think Nick is a “jerk” and all these other names that he's NOT!  Listen to his music and you can hear his meaning in life. He says in one of his songs, “I was put on this Earth to help God and be an example, but my time is almost up….” So right there you know he believes in God. And if I cant change your mind about Nick, then ok, but I believe he’s a great person
From being Channeled through at Moon River Brewing Company to had your name clearly spoken by a spirit in the Old Washoe Club, Nick has stood his ground and went through it all, and hes still going! You never know what’s going to happen when you go on an investigation with Nick Groff. But like I said before, it’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Plz Comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~Syd Foster:)

Zak don’t-judge-him-until-you-know-him Bagans

Inside Zak Bagan's Dungeon - Photo 10

When you say his name it’s like a spirit creeping down your spine… in a good wayJ. Zak Bagans is the lead investigator of Ghost Adventures. He was born on April 5, 1977 in Washington D. C. Zak didn’t always believe in ghost and spirits. It wasn’t until the ghost from Trenton Michigan that got Zak scared so bad that he ran to the parking lot. On Ghost Adventures: The Beginning, Zak had a clip of when he interviewed the custodian and asked him if he ever felt something or heard things in the room he was staying in for college. That inspired Zak to do some ghost hunting.
Some people think all Zak does is ghost hunt, work out in the gym, and Tweet on Twitter, but that’s only half trueJ. Zak just had a charity foundation for animals that have no homes. He said a bingo game (with more than just old people), “These animals can’t talk, so we have to use our power to help them.” Zak also says EVERYDAY on Twitter that he loves every single fan. So really he’s a really nice and funny guy!
Zak has a book out called, Dark World, and I have to say, it was amazing! In his book he talks about what he thinks ghost and spirits are, what other people think they are, and what someday he hopes the paranormal will be like. Dark World also got number 18 on New York Best Sellers on September 23, 2011. Zak has a clothing line still getting ready to come out called, Dungeon Wear. He said via Twitter, “They will be kept in my dungeonJ.” Zak Twitter name is Zak_Bagans Zak also has an album coming out with Praga Khan. He also is recording a few songs with Lord of Acid band. The songs Zak will be in are on Lord of Acid’s new album. Also, Zak had his own TV show called, Paranormal Challenge. It was only out last summer. And last but CERTAINLY not least, Zak, along with Aaron Goodwin, Dave Schrader, and a few other people, got to be on Nick Groff’s song “What’s Next” on his album, “The Other Side.”
Now, people who have NEVER watched Ghost Adventures turn on the TV right when Zak is yelling at a mean spirit that kept slaves locked up in an underground jail, but the viewer doesn’t know who he’s yelling at!!!! Note to all you new GAC watchers- Thank You SO much for watching the BEST show in the world, but please, watch from BEGINNING to END!!! Zak only yells at the mean spirits and comforts the lost and confused spirits. It’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Scratches Lead to Nightmares

My opinion on this lockdown is NEVER go to Bobby Mackey’s Music World in Wilder, Kentucky for your first investigation of ghost hunting! Zak, Nick, and Aaron went to Bob Mackey’s, and Zak got scratched out of nowhere. Nick said earlier in the investigation, “Come and get Zak.” And Zak agreed and said, “I’m right here for you” and right there I knew he would regret that. When they went by the hole that Carl Lawson dug up, Zak got 3 scratches down his back and they looked like they were a foot long. He also had a few 1inch scratches around the huge ones. Three is also the mocking of a trinity.
When they were getting let out, Aaron said, “I hope we never come here again” well, his wishes are not our command. In 2009, Zak, Nick, and Aaron went back to Bobby Mackey’s with 50-100 people, and that wasn’t the best idea. Something was calling them back though. When they went, Zak heard over the PX devise, “Z man”. Z man is what Zak’s dad use to call him, and he hasn’t heard that name for a long time. Aaron heard through a different devise, and it started saying, “Family troubles” then, “Marriage troubles.” After that lockdown, Aaron and his wife Sheela had a divorce, and Aaron said on the 3rd lockdown when Zak asked him,"Do you think Bobby Mackey's is the reason for your divorce?, Now I know the answer, your one of my good friends, but I want them to know." and Aaron said, "I think it was 80% of the devorice." But they are still great friends, and they both knew it was not Bob Mackey’s fault.
After that lockdown something was STILL calling them back, so they went back to Bobby Mackey’s in 2010, and Zak… got border line possessed. The crew was upstairs in the bar, and Zak said, “We’ve done this enough that we know they’re not here”. And he was getting a little heated, but then Aaron heard a voice that said, “Gonna kill Zak” and then Aaron freaked, but didn’t know it said that. Zak was stating his opinion and said, “Just like I was saying sitting on the floor, they’ll come out when we least expect it.” And that’s what they did. All these things happen to Bobby Mackey's Music World, but nothing happens to Bobby Mackey himself. The result to this is he doesn't believe in ghost. His wife even got push down stairs, but he doesnt believe in ghost. They even have to put a sign in the doorway when you walk in that says, "This establishment is not proported to be haunted. Management is not responsible and cannot be held liable for any actions of any ghost/spirits on this premises."
They went to the basement, a demonologist named Bishop James Long went with Zak, Nick, and Aaron. He cleansed the room, and Zak started to feel a burning everywhere, but Aaron heard a voice in his head that said, “Kill him, kill him” and that wasn’t good. Everything was very emotional for Aaron when they were going over what happened. It’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Who Are They?

Have you ever watched the show, Ghost Adventures? Well if you haven’t, it’s a show about the paranormal. The people that are on the show and that do the lockdowns are Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin.  They started Ghost Adventures in 2004. Their first lockdown that got aired on TV was Bobby Mackey’s Music World in Wilder, Kentucky which aired and made in 2008. Their episode made in 2004 was when they went to The Old Washoe Club for the first time, An Old Grave Yard, an Old Cabin House that these miners once lived in, The Goldfield Hotel, and Silver Queen Hotel. One big thing is how Ghost Adventures came to be. Zak was a DJ before ghost hunting. When he was DJing at a wedding, he saw Nick and wanted to talk to him. They started talking and decided to go ghost hunting just to try it. They found out that they needed a camera man, so Nick asked his good friend, Aaron, if he would do it for them. He said yes. Aaron and Nick already knew each other from college. So they had their first lockdown at the Castle house in Nevada or at the Washoe Club. It’s not easy being a ghost hunter.

Zak Bagans is the lead investigator of Ghost Adventures. [Website] People say he is the tough one of the group. My opinion is Zak doesn’t show fear easily. Zak has a book called, Dark World, and he mainly talks about what he sees in paranormal investigating and what some day he hopes to see. Zak has his own way of investigating. He doesn’t go straight to the house not knowing what to find. He interviews people and he researches books and other resources with Nick and Aaron. But a place that was very physical with Zak and a very scary part of the lockdown was at Tooele, Utah at Asylum 49. This place was half haunted attraction and half… wait for it….. Nursing home! CrEePy! What happen there is that Zak made Aaron go down the hallway to room 666. When he went down there, he barely got anything, but when Zak got down there, they got a very scary voice that said, “Zak Bagans”. Then they went into room 666 and while Nick and Aaron were out in the hall way, Zak was in the door way of room 666 and he was seeing the Jacob’s ladder light up all the way to the top.  Now remember, 666 is the sign of the devil. After all that he got a very scary voice and something was pushing Zak up against the wall and he couldn’t move. Then finally, the spirit let him down and he told Aaron the whole story. Ghost hunting is VERY dangerous. Nick, Aaron, and Zak are VERY brave. I got to say Zak is probably my favorite by 1 point.

Nick Groff is the co-investigator of Ghost Adventures. I think of him as a little bit of Zak and a little bit of Aaron. Nick isn’t scared to do things when it comes to hard core ghost hunting. Nick stays on his game and doesn’t ever let anyone or anything in his way. That’s unless he needs to let out a joke or two. Nick just had a CD album released called, The Other Side, which he rapped himself. He has meanings for all his songs and one song that just sticks out to me is, What’s Next. The reason why it sticks out to me is because he says what he thinks the paranormal is. He lets other people talk with him in this song. The people that also state what they thing the paranormal is are these people: Mark Constantino, Debby Constantino, Jeff Belanger, Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Dave Schrader. They all really state what they think it is. Some words that stick out to me are Nick: “Energy will never die it will only multiply.” And Zak: if you believe in Heaven, he must believe in [Heck]. If you believe angles, you must believe in demons.”

Aaron is the equipment tech of Ghost Adventures. I say equipment tech/investigator because it’s the truth. Aaron doesn’t just sit at base waiting for Zak and Nick to need a new piece of equipment. He goes ghost hunting with Zak and Nick and he’s has to be the scared one, but he’s got a lot better. For example, they went to the Mizpah Hotel in Nevada. There was this BROKEN DOWN elevator that was in the basement that Aaron went to. He says he heard a door shut. He went do to the place that he heard. He finds out it’s the elevator. He goes inside the elevator and gets a recording on his digital recorder. When Aaron says, “If you open the door, I’ll give you money,” the door opens and he is facing the back of the elevator towards the mirror. And remember I said BROKEN DOWN!!! That’s an amazing piece of evidence.

All in all, Zak, Nick, and Aaron are very brave to do this. These guys are risking their lives to do this, especially when demonic demons come into play and possess you. Like I said before, ghost hunting is not easy or a piece of cake, but many people are risking their lives. A lot of people like Zak, Nick, Aaron, Billy Tolley, Dave Schrader, and ECT are making ghost hunting look easy, but they are skilled. So get this in your head… GHOST HUNTING ISNT EASY SO BE CAREFUL!!!

Watch Ghost Adventures on Friday and Saturday at 9PM EST on the Travel Channel and get spooked for the night
