Melissa Galka

Melissa Galka… Beautiful young lady… One thing here… Bad things happen to Good people.
Melissa was 17 when this tragedy happened. She was out one night at a party and her father, Gary, was in bed and he couldn’t sleep. He knew something was wrong. He got up and just watched out the window. He saw headlights and felt relief go through his body, but then when he heard the doorbell ringing frantically, he knew there was something wrong. He found out his daughter was in a crash. When he got there, he was scared to leave. He thought if he left, she wouldn’t make it. When they got to the hospital, they found out she was brain damage.  Then a few days later, the doctor said it was the end for Melissa, so Gary put his hand on his daughter’s heart and felt it stop, and he said on the Ghost Adventures episode, “That was how this started to be honest”.

When GA went to the Galka’s, we learned where the Mel-Meter 87-04 got its name from. Mel is Melissa’s nickname and 87 is the year she was born and 04 is the year she died. Gary puts Mel in his devices he makes. You can tell this family will never forget their daughter and sister.
Gary’s wife’s name is Cindy, and their 2 other daughters names are Heather and Jen. Melissa was the oldest and Heather is the youngest.
When Zak, Nick, and Aaron went to the Galka’s, they wanted to go on the day she communicated the most with her family, which was her birthday, February 14th. When they went Gary asked, “Mel, do you like having Zak here?” and she responded, “… Yeah, he’s my friend…” But before we get into the evidence, Zak did call Melissa’s voice mail because Gary and Cindy didn’t shut her phone off. When the voice mail ended, Gary said, “I haven’t heard that voice in a long time.” And when they were done calling, Nick’s audio went out on his camera. Gary then told them that he has been telling Melissa to take Zak, Nick, and Aaron’s energy and the camera’s energy, so there would be clear EVP’s.
When Zak, Nick, Aaron, Cindy, Gary, Melissa’s sister Jen, and Jen’s husband Matt, were in the kitchen, Zak, Nick, Aaron, and Cindy could hear a faint whistling or singing, and when the whistling or singing was gone, Melissa came in and said, “…there gone…” When they were done eating cake and done with the birthday celebration, they went up to Mel’s room. When they went up there, Camera 1 went out. Billy ran upstairs to fix it, and right before he came in the room, a voice came through the spirit box and said, “…Who’s that?...” And then Billy walked in. We can tell this spirit was talking about Billy. By the way, the spirit was not Melissa. Mel said it was a friend.
Zak asked Melissa, “Melissa, how many people are here with you?” and she said, “…8…12…10…” Zak thought it was kind of funny. This does show that there is a portal that these spirits pass through. Next, when Nick sat on the bed, he spelt perfume. They were trying ALL they could to debunk it, but could find anything. Cindy was also on the other side of the bed, away from where the perfume smell was coming from. They thought this may be Melissa.
This part of the investigation was very heartwarming to me. Melissa came through the spirit box and said, “…hi dad…” and Gary said, “Did I just hear dad? I want to listen to that again.” Then after they listened to it again, Melissa said, “…miss you all…” And that was the last EVP of the night.
When everyone went down stairs, Zak stayed upstairs just to talk to Melissa and to wish her a happy birthday. It’s not easy being a ghost hunter… or a parent that had their child die in a car crash.
I just wanted to take a minute to talk about this episode. This episode hit me hard. Gary said at the end he wanted to show other parents that their kids are in arm reach, but one of his is not. But he does know she’s safe. When I watched “Galka Family” I did cry at the end from what Gary had said. You can tell Gary and Cindy really love and miss their daughter. I really do HIGHLY recommend this episode. I really LOVED when Zak said, “This will change your thoughts on the paranormal and your loved ones who have passed on.” I love this episode and I HIGHLY recommend it.

For Melssa:
We think about tomorrow then it slips away
We talk about forever but we've only got today...
(Watch the episode and you'll find out what that means to Melissa)
